The Wellington 4K mortice deadlock is an escape mortice lock that is commonly used in residential and sheltered accommodation. It has a turn which means that it can always be opened from the inside. Included in the Wellington range is a deadlock (4H), a sash lock (4G), which is available as a standalone lock or with handles as a set or an escape lock (4K).
These locks do not meet the requirements of British Standard BS3621:2007.
In line with a number of other mortice locks, these locks feature a grey lock case but they have unique measurements that identify them from other mortice locks. Please refer to the line drawing for details.
Please note that the Wellington 4J lock is no longer manufactured. That lock is the same as the 4G but did not feature a turn on the inside. The 4L has also been discontinued, which was the latch only version.
The deadbolt throws 14mm.
The deadbolt can be locked and unlocked from the outside by use of the key.
From the inside, the deadbolt is locked or unlocked by the turn.
The deadbolt can always be unlocked by the turn from the inside.
The lock is supplied with a striking box in a grey finish.
Suitable for use on doors up to 50mm thick. The thickness of the door is determined by the length of the keys.
These locks are handed. Please be careful to select the correct hand that you need.
To determine the handing, stand on the outside of the room. The door should open inwards. If the door is hinged on the right you should select a left hand lock. If it is hinged on the left, select a right hand lock.
